Raindrop Therapy.

Raindrop therapy was discovered by D. Gary young founder of young living essential oils. He discovered Raindrop therapy by a Lakota Native practice where healers swept a feather upward along the spine in imitation of the Northern Lights.
In Raindrop therapy 9 essential oils are used. 7 single oils and 2 therapeutic blends.

Raindrop therapy helps reduce bacteria and viruses. It helps reduce pain, backaches, and inflammation. It helps realign he spine. And improves the circulation of blood. It helps relieve stress. It induces relaxation and invigoration. Raindrop therapy improves the immune function and can help relieve negative emotions. The oils flush out toxins and kill dormant viruses and bacteria along the spine.
Raindrop therapy is based on the theory that many types of scoliosis and spinal misalignment are caused by viruses or bacteria that lie dormant along the spine. These pathogens create inflammation which contorts the spine and weakens the body system. Raindrop therapy creates homeostasis in the body physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Raindrop therapy requires almost no skill in massage. Most of the techniques are due to the oils. In fact practitioners are discouraged from using other techniques in Raindrop therapy. It is the profound nature of the oils which can heal where healing is needed most. Raindrop techniques were designed to optimize the power of real healing oils. Raindrop is only safe and should be performed with pure organic therapeutic oils. Several of the oils used in this including oregano, thyme, and basil are considered hot oils. These oils might cause skin irritation. So use little on sensitive skin. Keep a bottle of pure natural massage oil base handy. If any of the hot oils cause irritation simply apply massage oil liberally to soothe the heat. Raindrop therapy has been great at bringing relief and healing to those suffering from chronic illnesses. However changes to the protocol are sometimes necessary. Patients with MS for example need to have a cold towel applied instead of a hot towel. Both patient and therapist should drink lots of water since the oils stimulate the body to begin releasing toxins.

Things to avoid when using herbs.

1.) You do not tell your doctors about the herbs or supplements you are taking. Or you stop taking medications on your own. Many herbs interact with common medicine and can take a serious toll on your health.
2.) You do not take your herbs and supplements daily. It is very important to take your supplements and herbs daily as recommended to see if they are working or not. One common mistake is when a person starts taking a supplement and then skips the next day and then takes it the next. Then after awhile you move on to the next herb because it didn’t have a reaction.
3.) You take herbs and supplements before or after surgery. Your surgeon needs to know about all the herbs and supplements that you are taking. This prevents complications. Herbs and supplements can interact with the anaesthestic or cause excessive bleeding. One researcher at the Columbia University’s Department of Plastic Surgery recommends that all herbs and supplements be discontinued 2 to 3 weeks before the surgery. The herbs they identified as some of the most risky yet commonly used include:
ginkgo
garlic
ginseng
ginger
glucosamine and chondroitin
coenzyme q10
saw palmetto
omega-3 fatty acids, flax seed oil, fish oil
danshen
feverfew
ephedra/ma huang
goldenseal
chamomile
kava kava
St. john’s wort
licorice
valerian
vitamin E
4.)You take herbal laxatives or “dieter’s teas” to induce regular bowel movements. People can become dependent and use them for months or even years at a time. However laxatives such as senna should not be used for longer than one week without talking to a doctor. Prolonged use may cause the bowels to lose the ability to move on their own. They have also been linked to chronic diarrhea, muscle weakness, potentially dangerous irregular heart rhythms, and kidney or liver impairment. When you want to get off of the laxatives talk to a doctor to gradually recover to a normal bowel function. The key is to do it slowly. Usually in combination with a fiber supplement and lots of water.
5.) You take herbs and supplements, and or drugs that together may increase your risk of bleeding.Anticoagulant drugs like aspirin or warfarin (blood thinners) prevent the formation of blood clots inside arteries, reducing the risk of stroke. When they are combined with herbs and supplements that also have an anticoagulant affect, they have a higher risk of bleeding. Some herbs and supplements that have an anticoagulant affect are:
aloe vera
chamomile
coenzyme q10
danshen
feverfew
garlic
ginger
gingko
ginseng
saw palmetto
goji
devil’s claw
dong quai
fish oil
willow bark
6.) You are tired all the time so you turn to herbs to boost your energy. When you are constantly tired or lack energy you should go to a primary care provider instead of herbs.Although diet and supplements may help, the first step is to make sure that the problem isn’t an illnesses like:
Anemia
Asthma
Sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea
Hypothyroidism
Chronic fatigue syndrome
Depression
7.) When you drink chamomile tea without knowing what medications it interacts with. Most people think of chamomile tea as being harmless. Although it has some serious side effects when it is combined with certain medications like internal bleeding. Here is a link to some drugs that will interact with chamomile: http://altmedicine.about.com/od/druginteractions/p/chamomile.htm
Remember before you take any herbs do research. Be smart about it. They can have some serious side effects when mixed with certain medications.
